Bank worker 'traumatised' by ABH attack

A YOUNG Plymouth bank-worker was left traumatised after a customer viciously attacked her, a court heard.

Failed asylum-seeker Kaulded Djaatouti head-butted and kicked the woman – whom The Herald is not naming – leaving her bruised and bleeding on the floor of HSBC Bank in Old Town Street. But Plymouth Crown Court heard that the psychological effects on the woman were much worse than the physical ones.

From being a bright, confident, outgoing young woman who worked as a 'meet and greeter', she found herself unable to deal with customers and constantly in fear of attack; she had to be moved to an office job.

She suffered nightmares, needed counselling and was so afraid of being on her own that she moved back home with her parents.

ASDA IN HALAL STORM

SUPERMARKET giant Asda has risked sparking a racial backlash in the place where the BNP won its first ever council, by closing its traditional fresh meat counter and replacing it with a halal only section.

The chain has decided to make the move at its large store on the Isle of Dogs, east London.

Within weeks, anyone wanting fresh pork chops or ham off the bone will have to go to the pre-packed meat section, with Muslim customers having a wider choice from the halal counter.

Asda insisted it was “responding to customer demand” and had done a deal with a local halal butcher to reflect the ethnic make up of the area’s population.

Yet figures show that while the borough of Tower Hamlets is almost half Muslim, the Isle of Dogs is about 80 per cent non-Bangladeshi.

Sex trafficking gang is jailed

Sex trafficking gang is jailed - News - Manchester Evening News
A GANG who trafficked a woman from Romania to work the streets of Manchester as a prostitute has been jailed.

The migrant workers lured their victim - a single mum in her twenties - to the UK after their building work dried up because of the credit crunch.

They promised the woman she could earn money as a dancer but forced her to have sex with up to ten men a night in Manchester's red light districts.

She finally escaped their clutches when she appealed to one of her 'punters' and he helped her flee to his house.

A court heard that Greater Manchester Police has dedicated twenty officers to tackling the problem of sex trafficking, which Judge Clement Goldstone QC described as a 'scourge' in this country as he sentenced the gang.

HUGE COST OF AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS QUANTIFIED

MigrationWatchUK

An amnesty for illegal immigrants would be bound to encourage further illegal immigration, their present number has been seriously underestimated and the lifetime cost would be in the order of £130 billion even on that low estimate of numbers, says a report out today from think-tank Migrationwatch.

The report is in reply to a paper published by the London School of Economics on 16 June in response to a request from London's Mayor. Introducing the document, Boris Johnson claimed it proved that immigrants were "far from a financial burden". He added:

"This new Report has introduced some long overdue facts, hard evidence and academic rigour into a debate which has far too often been dominated by myth, anecdote and hearsay".

Clearly the Mayor had not read the Report which makes it clear that "It has to be emphasised that these are ball park estimates at best" (page 110) and that "many of the numbers that had been generated for this Report have required heroic assumptions" (page 113).
